Children, Society and Divorce

A recent survey by The Children’s Society reports that whilst family breakup makes children unhappy in the short term, after a year, children whose parents separated were happier than children whose parents did not get on well together.

Lord Justice Jackson’s civil litigation cost’s review makes interesting reading. His foreword reads:
 
“In some areas of civil litigation costs are disproportionate and impede access to justice (my emphasis).  I therefore propose a coherent package of interlocking reforms designed to control costs and promote access to justice (my emphasis again.)”

France Show 2010

On Thursday we were thinking that it might be a logistical nightmare getting to Earl’s Court for the start of the France Show last Friday, 8 January. There were reports of severe weather for the weekend, and we couldn’t predict the conditions in London. We left Kent at 5am to give us enough time in case the weather wasn’t in our favour.
