...at A Place in The Sun exhibition
If ever there was any encouragement needed for realising the dream of buying a place in the sun, it was the recent wet weather!
The rain didn’t seem to stop visitors to the A Place in The Sun exhibition at the NEC Birmingham over the weekend (1-3 October). The exhibition is linked to the Channel 4 programme, A Place in the Sun, and takes place twice a year. The presenters of the programme – Amanda Lamb, Jasmine Harman and Jonnie Irwin – were talking throughout the day on the main stage.
Between them all the exhibitors covered many different countries of the world. However, there was a specific area of the exhibition dedicated to France – the French Village – hosted by French-Property.com. Here visitors were given the opportunity to speak with specialists on the different aspects of investing in property in France, and seminars were held throughout the day. Our French Property and Estates team gave a seminar each day on the buying process in France and we also covered the important topic of Wills and succession planning, which also needs to be considered at the time of buying. Other speakers included Duncan Campbell of Siddalls, David Johnson of Halo Financial (foreign exchange providers) and Tony Mason of Sofica’s medical insurers. Property agents and surveyor John Marshall were also on hand to answer questions.
France is still a very appealing country with the British, and the event gave us the opportunity to speak with many people about their dream of buying in France, a lot of them with the view to relocating there.
Thank you to all those who attended the seminars and came to talk to us on our stand. We hope that you enjoyed your day, and if you have any feedback about the show, in particular the French Village, we would be interested to hear from you.
