Home care service providers must ensure staff are trained to recognise and identify abuse
A Home Care Review recently carried out by the Equality and Human Right’s Commission (EHRC) highlighted cases of physical and emotional abuse, including theft, neglect and basic disregard for privacy and dignity of people in receipt of council funded care in their own homes. There are approximately 500 000 such people in England.
