Tripping over a drain cover

Our client sustained an injury whilst at work. We obtained a settlement just short of a 5 figure sum at no cost to the client.

Mrs S of Peterborough made a personal injury claim through Furley Page Solicitors after she tripped down a broken drain cover in a privately owned back garden which she was lawfully visiting in the course of her employment. She sustained nasty soft tissue injuries to her lower left leg and left knee leaving her on crutches for a month, unable to drive for 4 months, and off work for 5 months.

Despite the fact that it was an occupier’s liability claim against a private landlord, we were able to secure an admission of liability and a settlement for the client just below 5 figures, at no cost to the client whatsoever and without the client having to go to Court.
