Prestigious new offices based in one of the most historic parts of the Thames Gateway region have been opened by leading south east law firm Furley Page LLP.
This significant new phase in the firm’s history, which runs into nearly three centuries, is indicative of the area’s growth potential and Furley Page’s rapid expansion plans.
Based in the Clocktower building at the Historic Dockyard, Chatham, a team of lawyers will provide specialist advice to business clients seeking City level expertise but without the London price tag. Indeed, the firm’s expertise is recommended by Chambers UK and the Legal 500.
Peter Hawkes, senior partner at Furley Page, said: “With the firm’s already strong reputation in Kent and the south east, it was a logical move to establish a presence at Thames Gateway – an area synonymous with growth. This is a major development for Furley Page and being in Chatham means we can engage in local issues which will shape the structure of north Kent and the Thames Gateway over the next 10 -15 years.”
Partner James Pigott heads up the new team which specialises in all aspects of business services including sales and acquisitions, commercial property, employment, insolvency and restructuring, debt recovery, intellectual property, contract advice, partnerships and LLPs, dispute resolution, environmental law, health and safety, and competition law.
Furley Page, sponsors of the first ever Medway Boat Race between Kent’s universities – part of its ongoing community programme, is also respected within the profession for quality training seminars and workshops.
An additional Kent location will ensure a wider audience, says Peter Hawkes, adding: “We will be working closely with business organisations and business partners. A new seminar series is planned which will utilise the top-quality lecture facilities available to us.”
Furley Page was established 280 years ago. It also has offices in Canterbury and Whitstable offering legal services across 12 practice areas in commercial and private client law.
