Furley Page Newcomer Joins Personal Injury Team

17 January 2007

Formula 1 enthusiast Amanda Hockley –
newly-appointed legal executive with Furley Page Solicitors –
owes her choice of profession to an ‘inspirational’ tutor.

“It was a huge motivator for me,” says 31-year-old Amanda
who has joined the personal injury team at the firm’s Canterbury offices.

“Personal injury is an area of the law that interests me greatly.
It means I can work with clients on a much more personal basis,
advising them on how to resolve difficult situations that have had a big impact on their lives.”

Recommended in The Legal 500, the Furley Page personal injury team has a well-documented 25-year association with Kent, handling a wide variety of claims including those for minor injuries;
six and seven figure severe injuries; industrial disease and claims for children.

Amanda, who lives in Ashford, opted for combining studying for her legal exams with working, embarking on the Institute of Legal Executives’ route to becoming a solicitor. She achieved fellowship status earlier this year.

Michael Longmore, head of the personal injury team at Furley Page, said: “Amanda brings sound litigation experience and specific skills to the firm and she will be a great asset to the personal injury team.”

Before joining Furley Page, Amanda’s experience embraced project
finance, commercial litigation and insurance in a major international firm based in London.

In her spare time she enjoys motorcycling – she is currently training for her Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) Advanced Motorcycle Test; many forms of motorsport including Formula 1, MotoGP and World Superbikes; cooking and reading.
