One of the longest serving members of staff at Furley Page Solicitors, Keith Phillips, is handing over the reigns of the firm’s debt recovery team after 36 years.
Phillips, who lives in Canterbury, joined Furley Page in 1970, heading up the debt recovery business for a wide range of commercial clients as well as advising on all aspects of credit control.
He also deals with matters of insolvency law on behalf of companies and individuals, providing debt counselling and help with establishing a moratorium with creditors.
Phillips’ successor is Martin Kingman, of Gillingham, who joins Furley Page from another large law firm where he dealt with contested matters and debt recovery.
Peter Hawkes, senior partner at Furley Page, said: “Keith Phillips has done sterling work for us over many years and his knowledge and skills have made an invaluable contribution to the firm. We will be sad to lose him as a colleague but in Martin Kingman we are lucky to have found an able successor with sound experience gained from working for clients in multiple sectors from individuals and sole traders to plcs and multinational companies.”
Martin Kingman, who is a member of the Institute of Legal Executives, specialises in personal and corporate debt recovery, asset tracing and recovery, and corporate and personal insolvency.
Furley Page provides a fixed-price debt recovery service to enable its clients to recover debts at an economic rate. The debt recovery team also provides bespoke advice on particular problem issues.
Kingman has experience of mediation and arbitration and has acted as an advocate in the county court and before the High Court Masters in defended litigation matters.
“Furley Page is a highly respected, forward-thinking firm that will offer a variety of challenges which I am looking forward to undertake,” he said.
