A free lunchtime concert series at the Gulbenkian Theatre, University of Kent has the backing of leading regional law firm Furley Page.
The firm, which has offices in Canterbury, Whitstable, Chatham and Lloyds of London, is sponsoring five concerts over the next few months – part of an ongoing community support programme.
Opening the lunchtime season on October 12 are Mambo Jambo – musical ‘explorers’ and multi-instrumentalists Pete Jack and Frankie Banham who serve up hot sounds from around the world.
Other concerts in the series are on November 2, November 30, January 25 and March 8 and feature diverse styles ranging from English Baroque to jazz and Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals celebrating the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth.
Performances start at 1.10pm and finish with a ‘give what you can’ collection.
