A free lunchtime concert series at the Gulbenkian Theatre, University of Kent has the backing of leading regional law firm Furley Page.
The firm, which has offices in Canterbury, Whitstable, Chatham and Lloyds of London, is sponsoring three concerts over the next few months – part of an ongoing community support programme.
Kick-starting this popular lunchtime season on October 11 are Kasai Masai who add their own unique twist to the traditional sounds of remote equatorial African villages. Playing ancestral music which has been passed on from generation to generation, they combine percussion and singing with the majestic Congolese guitar and jazz saxophone.
Other concerts in the series are on November 8, featuring the dynamic Eden-Stell Guitar Duo (Mark Eden and Christopher Stell) in a performance which includes Bach and Rodrigo, and December 6 with the choristers of Canterbury Cathedral in a ‘programme for all seasons’.
Concerts start at 1.10pm. There is a suggested donation of £3.
