High Note for Free Musical Concerts Sponsored by Furley Page

11 February 2008

A series of free lunchtime concerts at the Gulbenkian Theatre, University of Kent promises to hit a high note on March 10 with guest artists House8 - members of the Royal Opera Chorus.

House8’s programme for this popular concert series, sponsored by leading south east law firm Furley Page, includes a performance of Johannes Brahms’ Zigeunerlieder - a collection of short movements for chorus and piano about gypsy life.

Open to everyone, the concert starts at 1.10pm and finishes with a ‘give what you can’ collection.

Peter Hawkes, senior partner at Furley Page, said: “The firm has a strong tradition of supporting music in Kent and we are particularly pleased to once again have the opportunity to sponsor the lunchtime concert events.

“What makes them so special is that they are accessible to everyone. Just turn up on the day to hear some great music. There’s no need to book.”
