Kent Lawyer Joins Key Venture For The Elderly

29 September 2006

A Kent lawyer who specialises in issues affecting older people has been made a member of Solicitors for the Elderly – the national association dedicated to improving legal services such as tax-planning, wills, long-term social and health care and other retirement matters.

Gillian McLaren, of Furley Page Solicitors, said: “This is a field of law that is constantly evolving as the needs of the elderly population change and I look forward to being a part of this important organisation and rising to the challenges it sets itself.”

Mrs McLaren, who is married and lives in Canterbury, joined Furley Page in 1997, since when she has specialised in complex probate issues, enduring powers of attorney, receiverships and will-drafting.

She works closely with three local hospices and other members of Furley Page’s private client team to provide emergency attendance cover throughout the year – day and night.

A fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, she is experienced in most areas of the law having worked in both the private and public sector.

Leisure time focuses on running, travel and enjoying a newly-acquired apartment in Torrevieja on the southern Costa Blanca. This puts her in an ideal position to advise elderly (and not so elderly) clients wanting to repatriate to Spain on UK-related legal and tax issues.
