New Legal Executive For Furley Page

02 March 2010

A legal executive specialising in issues facing elderly and vulnerable clients has been appointed by the private client team at leading regional solicitors Furley Page – recommended by independent national legal guide Chambers UK.

Kelly Hamer, aged 33, of Maidstone, and a fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, comes to Furley Page from a Maidstone law firm.

A member of Solicitors for the Elderly*, her keen insight into dementia-related illnesses means Kelly is able to help families solve the worrying financial and legal issues arising from the condition. She works closely with associated charities and support organisations in this field. She is also a member of the Care Sector, liaising with nursing and residential homes on matters relating to powers of attorney and court of protection.

Kelly has extensive knowledge of trust administration of lifetime, charitable, personal injury and Will trusts. She regularly advises on personal injury trusts to protect payments of damages, and the management of damages for people with long-term conditions.

Another specialist subject is brain injury and she attends Kent Acquired Brain Injury Forum meetings to catch up on new developments.

Harvey Barrett, partner and head of the private client team, said: “Kelly’s skills and experience are diverse and will be invaluable to the team – as will her pragmatic approach to solving clients’ problems.”
