New Local Test Centre for Former Kent Miners

17 October 2005

Former Kent miners suffering from Vibration White Finger can now visit a local test centre thanks to Canterbury solicitors Furley Page.

Furley Page petitioned on behalf of Kent miners for a local test centre, the previous closest centre was in London.

Furley Page Partner Neille Ryan has worked closely with miners union NACODS to help former Kent Miners bring health claims against British Coal.

Neille Ryan said: "It was ridiculous asking elderly miners to make a two to three hour trip to London often for appointments before 10.00am. I am sure it was putting many miners off from making claims for Vibration White Finger."

The new test centre is now situated at Canterbury Business Centre in Upper Bridge Street.

Former Kent miners who worked with heavy machinery for at least 12 months after 1 January 1975 can make a claim for Vibration White Finger. It is caused from working with heavy machinery particularly pneumatic machines.

Neille added: "Now is the time for any former Kent miners suffering from Vibration White Finger to come forward and make a claim."

Already Furley Page has obtained vibration white finger damages for hundreds of Kent miners.
