Race for Life

Karen Hopkins, Human Resources Assistant at Canterbury firm Furley Page Solicitors, (with her winners medal) raced in soaring temperatures along Herne Bay seafront to raise over £200 for cancer research. She successfully completed the race in 25 minutes 40 seconds.
 

Karen sponsored by family, friends and the Partners at Furley Page Solicitors joined 2000 other women at Herne Bay all with the goal to finish the race and raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK.
 

1. The first Race for Life was held in London's Battersea Park in 1994
2. Over 450,000 women have now run the Race for Life
3. Over £20 million has been raised for Cancer Research UK
4. In 2002 there are 100 races across the UK
5. Herne Bay race statistics
 

2001 - 1,041 women took part and raised a fantastic £61,722 for cancer research.
 

2002 – hoped that the 2,000 women who raced would raise £80,000!
