05 November 2009
Leading regional law firm Furley Page is presenting another of its successful interactive workshops on November 26 aimed at helping Kent businesses create a sound debt recovery strategy.
In partnership with Kent Invicta Chamber, the workshop will follow the same format that proved so popular with the other two - part seminar, part interactive question and answer session to be held at the Marriott Tudor Park Hotel and Country Club, Maidstone.
Martin Kingman, who heads the debt recovery and insolvency team whose expertise is recommended by independent legal guide Chambers UK, said: “In troubled economic times, businesses need the reassurance of knowing that they can prevent problems with debtors by having the right safeguards in place.
“We’ve had very positive feedback on the case studies and the opportunity to ask questions which is why we know it works well. It’s excellent news that Kent Invicta Chamber has agreed to partner us again.”
Joining Martin is Furley Page partner and head of the corporate team Susan Jennings who will talk about trading terms and how businesses can use them to their best advantage. She will also give tips on incorporating them into a contract.
Martin will focus on debt recovery and credit control in general; risk analysis; the type of information needed from new clients; late payment and interest; effective debt management and recovery, and international trading.
The workshop starts at 8.30am with breakfast and finishes at 11.45am. It’s open to members and non-members throughout Kent and suited to all firms - no matter what the size of the workforce.
Costs, which include breakfast and VAT, are £38 to Kent Invicta Chamber members and £52 to non-members. Bookings can be made by calling the chamber on 01233 503838 or online at www.kentinvictachamber.co.uk
