Spaces left for successful Furley Page seminars

11 May 2010

Breakfast seminars run by the newly-launched care sector team at Furley Page have proved a big success, reports the leading regional law firm.

Intended as a call-to-action prior to the October 1 deadline requiring adult social care and independent healthcare providers to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), they have triggered enthusiastic feedback.

Liz Brady, associate and specialist commercial property lawyer and a member of the new team at Furley Page, said: “There has been a very positive response to the seminars which have been described as ‘very useful, relevant and helpful’ by those attending.

“We still have a few spaces left for the last two seminars in the series on May 18 and 25.”

The seminars, at the firm’s Canterbury and Thames Gateway offices, explore the impact of the October deadline and other key issues including employment law and the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA), and the implications of the Mental Capacity Act 2007.

Furley Page’s 10-strong care sector team offers expert advice to care home providers on regulation and compliance including health and safety; employment; debt recovery; buying and selling property and land, and also financial issues. It also advises residents in care homes on mental health and capacity issues, financial and other matters relating to older and vulnerable clients.

Members of the team are acknowledged by either The Legal 500, Chambers UK or both guides, demonstrating their expertise in their practice areas.

The seminars are at:

  • Furley Page’s Thames Gateway office at Admiral’s Offices, Main Gate Road, The Historic Dockyard, Chatham on May 18 and 25

Registration and a light breakfast is from 8am – 8.45am and the seminars run from 8.45am – 10.15am. To book, call Judy Sutunc on 01227 863133 or email js@furleypage.co.uk
