04 January 2010
It may well be the season to be jolly but Christmas can be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for couples already under stress.
Family lawyers experience some of the busiest months of the year in January when clients turn to them for advice on how to cope with family breakdown.
Many solicitors offer a free first half hour consultation fee but the family law team at leading regional law firm Furley Page takes a different view. It feels the half-hour cut-off could be counter-productive as there are usually too many issues to discuss in so short a time.
Instead, during January, it’s offering clients an initial meeting of indefinite length for a fixed fee - £100 including VAT.
Anne Blenkinsop*, partner and member of Furley Page’s family law team, comments: “That initial meeting can last as long as a client needs - an hour or even two - and following the meeting we will provide them with a letter, at no extra charge, summarising the discussions so they are able to recall the advice at a later date.”
Contact the family law team on 01227 763939 before January 29 to take advantage of the offer.
Notes to editors
The offer is valid from January 4 – 29, 2010.
*Anne Blenkinsop is a collaborative lawyer. Collaborative law is a relatively new way of dealing with family disputes where the lawyer works with you, your partner and your partner’s lawyer in a series of face-to-face negotiations to help resolve family disputes. The process also helps to keep costs down.
