Career

An experienced HR professional, Hugh advises organisations on a full range of people issues.
Most recently Head of Personnel at Kent Institute of Art and Design and prior to that engaged by the Government of Bermuda, Hugh retains consultancies with various SMEs and has advised extensively on matters from strategy design down to the handling of day to day operational incidents.
This experience encompasses policy design and implementation; recruitment and selection; job evaluation, performance management and staff training; restructuring and change management; disciplinary and grievance procedures; redundancy programmes and contracting-out; union consultation and collective bargaining.
Hugh has also lectured on HR issues.
