Following a History degree at University College London (UCL), Melissa completed both the Postgraduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School attaining a commendation in both.
Melissa came to Furley Page as a trainee in 2007 and joined the Employment Team on qualification in 2009.
Melissa advises on a wide range of employment issues, for both employer and employee clients. Recent work has included the drafting of contracts and policies as well as advisory work on restrictive covenants, and the Working Time Regulations. Melissa also acts for clients involved in Tribunal proceedings, bringing, defending and, where appropriate, settling claims. Recent cases have involved the Part Time Workers Regulations, TUPE Regulations, and age discrimination.
Melissa regularly writes articles on topical issues of employment law for the regional business press.
Melissa's professional and practical approach enables her to seek the best possible solutions for clients, both quickly and cost effectively.
