Employment Law
Following a History degree at University College London (UCL), Melissa completed both the Postgraduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School attaining a commendation in both.
Melissa joined Furley Page in 2007 and following the successful completion of her training contract with the firm qualified as a solicitor in 2009. She completed her training in the Employment Team and was invited to remain in the team upon qualification having shown considerable promise during this time.
Melissa works closely with members of the Employment Team providing day to day operational advice to employers; she also acts for employees. Melissa advises on a wide range of employment issues, both non contentious and contentious. Recent work includes the drafting of employment contracts and policies as well as advisory work on the Working Time Regulations and TUPE Regulations. She has also acted for clients in a number of employment disputes, including discrimination claims, involving proceedings in Employment Tribunals. Melissa's professional and practical approach enables her to seek the best possible solutions for clients, both quickly and cost effectively.
