Susan Jennings, Head of Corporate, joined Furley Page in October 2007. Susan also heads up the Furley Page Thames Gateway office based at The Historic Dockyard, Chatham.
Susan has extensive experience advising on a broad range of commercial transactions including setting up companies and joint ventures; preparing Shareholders Agreement and directors service contracts; and drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts. These have included terms and conditions of trade, agency, distribution and franchise agreements, service level agreements as well as advising on financing and security documentation.
Having worked in private practice for ten years Susan has strong experience in advising clients in respect of acquisitions and disposals often involving complex financial arrangements and deferred consideration.
Susan has experience and enjoys working with all types of businesses, but is particularly well known for her work in the manufacturing and automotive sectors.
Notable transactions have included advising individuals on share sales of between £3-5 million; advising on the sale of shares in a manufacture of automotive components circa £5 million; advising on a group reorganisation of a plastics manufacturer circa €40 million; advising in respect of the purchase of shares in two international companies circa £50 million and acting in respect of a group reorganisation of a company in the plastics manufacturing supply industry of £60 million. In terms of consideration the largest transaction worked on to date is in the region of £250 million involving a joint venture with a client in the steel manufacturing industry.
Susan believes that her commercial awareness, combined with her friendly, practical and professional approach sets her apart from other corporate lawyers. She is keen to build a rapport with clients and understand their business in order to provide best advice in a solution driven way.
