Environmental Law & Planning Issues

Environmental issues are now high on the political agenda for both the government and local authorities, whether it be issues such as land use, waste management, air pollution or traffic control. It is a fast changing area of law with increasing control from the EU.

We can provide advice on compliance and regulatory issues including application for licences and discharge consents and health and safety matters. Environmental law frequently dovetails with planning issues. We can advise on land use, conservation and development plans as well as environmental issues arising in planning applications. We have particular experience in mining and waste management.

Our advice is given to developers, small and large businesses and objectors. We will conduct or defend claims in nuisance, negligence, or breaches of statutory duty as well as criminal prosecutions.

For further information about Environmental Law and Planning Issues contact Andrew Gough, Head of Commercial Property on 01227 763939.
