Members of the team have represented chartered accountants, surveyors, quantity surveyors, architects, directors, engineers, financial advisers and overseas based solicitors.
Where appropriate advice will be given on insurance policy wording interpretation and coverage disputes.
One team member acted for one of the main parties in the case of Norman and Anon –v- Theordore Goddard (a firm) and others [1991] BCLC 1028, a landmark ruling establishing the extent of a director’s duty of care.
The team has wide experience at handling court cases and arbitrations in the English courts, in Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Turkey, various EU jurisdictions, including Gibraltar and in the USA. One team member qualified in Hong Kong in the 1990s.
Interests of solicitors have been represented and defended in offshore jurisdictions, such as Hong Kong and Gibraltar. Engineers have been represented in diverse jurisdictions such as Indonesia where advice was given in a matter involving a failed hydro electric dam.
