Furley Page aims to entertain with laser clay competition at East Kent Ploughing Match

3rd September 2018

A birds of prey display, archery and laser clay pigeon shooting are just some of the many attractions on offer to visitors at the 74th East Kent Ploughing Match which will be held on Wednesday 26 September 2018 at Malmains Farm, Waldershare in Dover.

In addition to its annual laser clay pigeon shooting competition and ‘have a go’ archery, leading south east law firm Furley Page has once again partnered with The Hawking Centre from Doddington Place Gardens to give guests the opportunity to see birds of prey up close throughout the day. Hot drinks and Danish pastries followed by a local cheese buffet and drinks at lunchtime will be provided to guests at Furley Page’s marquee.

Partner Ethan Desai from Furley Page’s Agriculture and Rural Business Team said: “The East Kent Ploughing Match represents one of the great agricultural farming events in the county’s rural social calendar and we are looking forward to attending the event again this year.

“This popular event offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy a huge range of local crafts, trades, delicious food, entertainment and naturally, the chance to watch plenty of ploughing too!

“Thanks to our partnership with The Hawking Centre, guests will get the chance to see birds of prey up close at our marquee, while there will also be the chance to have a go at archery and take part in our traditional laser clay shooting competition.”

Visitors will be able to explore over 100 trade stands, enjoy a range of lunch and light refreshment options, take a look at classic tractors and engines, and watch the traditional Tossing the Sheaf contest. The ploughing competitions will be as keenly contested as ever, featuring the latest tractors and ploughs plus vintage and horse-drawn varieties.

Furley Page’s expertise in Agriculture and Rural Business is recommended by The Legal 500 while its specialist team is also regarded as a recognised practitioner by Chambers UK, which are both independent guides to the legal profession. Ethan Desai is also personally recognised by Chambers UK.
