Leading Kent law firm keeps young achiever

26th February 2014

One of Furley Page’s talented and recently-qualified solicitors has become the latest addition to the Kent law firm’s highly-regarded real estate team, which is recognised by independent legal guides Chambers UK and The Legal 500.

Simon Stempien, aged 26, spent two years training with Furley Page. He now advises on all aspects of property work, with particular focus on commercial property sales and purchases, dealing with a wide range of clients from large developers to individuals.

He has experience in dealing with both commercial and residential transactions and, in particular, he has helped a number of developers to acquire land for development. He also regularly deals with commercial leasehold properties for landlords and tenants.

Simon is based at Furley Page’s Canterbury office and has also spent considerable time with the residential property team at the firm’s Whitstable office, dealing with all aspects of residential conveyancing.

Jeremy Licence, partner and head of the real estate team, said: “Simon is a much-needed addition to our busy real estate team and we are pleased he agreed to stay with us when he qualified. He has already proved himself to be an important member of the team in Canterbury.”

Simon, who left the University of Kent with a first class degree and obtained a distinction in his legal practice course, started his full-time legal career in London as a paralegal in a niche regulatory and commercial litigation firm. He gained experience with both large industrial clients and private clients, dealing with a number of high-profile cases and attending court.

He joined Furley Page as a trainee solicitor in September 2011 and qualified in September last year.

Simon, who lives in Canterbury, is a keen Brighton and Hove Albion supporter. He also offsets his work life with more energetic activities, including restoring a 1968 Beetle, cycling around Kent and going to the gym.   For further information, contact Simon Stempien on 01227 763939.
