Florence is a tax adviser in private client work. She works closely with Sarah Bogard whose team (the French Property and Estates Team) she joined in May 2010.
Florence used to be a French Avocat in Lille (Northern France) where she worked for one of the French leading Corporate Law firms, closely involved in international matters.
After she moved across the Channel, Florence took the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test and more recently qualified as a UK tax adviser (Association of Taxation Technicians).
Florence’s in-depth knowledge of the French tax system enables her to advise on the tax implications of buying, selling and holding property in France (personal tax, capital gains tax). She also assists clients who move to France or to the UK with any personal tax matters arising as a result. She liaises directly with both the French tax authorities and HMRC and can assist in the filing of personal tax returns.
Florence can also advise clients in relation to French Wills and the inheritance tax implications of inheriting or the giving of French property or assets.

Testimonials for Florence
Client of Florence Richards – T.Cannon - June 2021
The service Furley Page, and in particular Florence Richards, gave to expedite of the sale of my house in France was outstanding. The process was made more difficult by the house being owned by a company. Florence ensured the correct authorities in France were contacted and she was able to liaise with them to expedite the sale. This would not have been achieved without her expertise and knowledge also her dogged determination to achieve a result.
Client of Florence Richards – Mr Raymond Cawley - April 2021
The service was professionally managed, and my family and I were kept fully informed of all issues, at all times, and in a fully trustworthy manner. Ray Cawley
Client of Sarah Bogard & Florence Richards – Mr G of Dorset - October 2020
We do not believe there is any real way in which an improvement could be made on a service which in our view was, outstanding. We were faced with a situation of a deceased relative in France who had been domiciled and resident there since the early 1950s, with a very limited connection to the UK at the time of her death. Given we were the principal beneficiaries it fell upon us to deal with the French administration, French Inheritance Tax etc. Furley Page demonstrated from the outset a clear understanding of the procedures in France and provided us a level of competence which we doubt many firms could do. In particular, we would like to mention how effective Furley Page were in communicating the process to us and providing explanations and feedback as the process unfolded.
