On Wed 30 Oct 2019 I attended the annual University of Kent Law Careers Fair organised by the Kent Student Law Society. I was accompanied by one of our second year Trainee Solicitors, Luke Page.
Furley Page has been a part of this law careers fair for many years but this is my sixth year of manning our stand at the fair, ready to answer students questions. It was great to see so many attended.
Although the official start time is 1pm, students begin to enter Eliot Hall before the allotted time to mingle with the many law firms and other legal associated firms who attend each year.
For almost 3 hours there is a steady stream of undergraduates as well as graduates studying for their Master's degree. All are embarking on the early stages of their legal career and all looking for the answer to the million dollar question – how can I make my application stand out from all the rest?
Unfortunately there is no simple answer, but we provide the students with lots of information about the Summer Work Experience we provide each year for 8 students, and our Trainee Solicitor recruitment for two exceptional candidates to join us.
Each student we meet is provided with a leaflet which specifically provides details of our recruitment along with an FAQ to answer some of their questions.
If you were unable to attend the University of Kent Law Careers Fair and are interested in joining us, either for our Summer Work Experience or as a Trainee Solicitor in 2022, then full details are available on our the careers section of our website, or click on the links below:
