The University of Kent’s Lunchtime Concert series kicks off the New Year with a performance from The Yaz Fentazi Trio on Wednesday 23 January.
Drawing on the rich traditions of jazz, blues and North African music, the Trio’s compositions create a sizzling atmosphere, described by Time Out magazine as a ‘wicked fusion of chaabi, gnawa and jazz’.
Oud player Yaz Fentazi will be joined by percussionist Gizem Altinordu and Robyn Hemmings on the upright bass.
The lunchtime concert series is sponsored by leading regional law firm, Furley Page.
The Yaz Fentazi Trio will perform in the University of Kent's Colyer-Fergusson Hall at 1.10pm on Wednesday 23 January. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of £3.
