Furley Page celebrates outstanding results in Chambers UK 2018
November 8, 2017
Individual lawyers and teams at Furley Page have achieved an excellent set of results in the annual rankings published by the UK’s independent national legal guide, Chambers UK – with one grateful client describing the firm as “a huge comfort”.
Ten lawyers have been personally recognised for their legal expertise and outstanding services to clients, while Chambers UK has praised Furley Page teams operating in seven specialised areas.
The Corporate Team is again top ranked at the highest level for SME and owner-managed businesses. Partner and Head of Corporate Susan Jennings, who is personally recognised, is held in high regard by clients. “She is very open and very quick to respond,” is one comment.
Partner Tony Chester – described as “easy to talk to” by one source – is again personally listed for his work with the Corporate Team.
The Dispute Resolution Team “is always available day and night, which is a huge comfort”. One client said “they are willing to think outside the box in their approach to legal problems”. The team’s George Crofton-Martin is praised for his “exceptionally able legal brain”.
Clients say that the Employment Team provides “very straightforward and effective advice, which is perfectly orientated towards business moving on.” Partner and Head of Employment Andrew Masters, again personally rated at band one, has impressed clients, who are “astounded by his knowledge, attention to detail and commercialism”.
Furley Page’s Real Estate Team is also recognised by Chambers UK, and has an excellent reputation for advising on commercial property services. Partner and Head of Real Estate Jeremy Licence is personally ranked, with one source describing him as “an excellent communicator and very commercially minded”.
Furley Page’s “powerful and knowledgeable” Real Estate Litigation Team is praised for its skilled resolution of disputes involving landlords and tenants. Partner Jeremy Ferris, who is personally recognised, benefits from a decade of experience as a chartered surveyor. Sources say he has the “patience of a saint” and is “very reassuring”.
Furley Page’s Agricultural and Rural Affairs Team is recognised, with one client hailing their “can-do attitude”, while “excellent”
The Personal Injury Team continues to excel, with one client praising the supportive nature of the lawyers, stating “I had a traumatic experience but they were helpful and understanding and the results were way beyond expectation”. Team Leader and Partner Neille Ryan is personally rated at band one, and is said to have “excellent client care skills and genuinely cares about getting the best outcome for the client”.
In September, a Furley Page lawyer was named in the Chambers High Net Worth global guide that recognises the world’s leading advisers to wealthy clients. The inclusion of Partner Aaron Spencer was the first time that Furley Page has appeared in the guide.
The Chambers High Net Worth guide was published for the first time last year but only included London-based lawyers. It has been extended this year to cover the rest of the UK.
