Pilgrims Hospices has been chosen as Furley Page’s charity of the year for 2025, as part of the law firm’s celebrations to mark its 300-year anniversary.

Throughout the year, Furley Page’s staff will take part in a range of fundraising activities, with all proceeds being donated to Pilgrims Hospices.

The firm’s fundraising activities are coordinated by the Furley Page Foundation, a charitable trust set up to manage Furley Page’s social responsibility programmes across Kent. Each year, the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, made up of Partners and elected staff representatives, decides how funds raised will be distributed, and staff nominate a main charity to support with fundraising activities.

The Furley Page Foundation has a long history of supporting charitable causes across Kent and has previously supported Pilgrims Hospices by sponsoring local fundraising events.

Furley Page Partner and Head of Private Client, Aaron Spencer, sits on the Furley Page Foundation’s Board of Trustees. He said: “This year, as part of the celebrations to mark the firm’s 300th anniversary, the Trustees of the Foundation have chosen to support the fantastic work being done in east Kent by Pilgrims Hospices.

“As the area’s largest hospice charity, Pilgrims Hospices provides vital support and exceptional care to so many people with life-limiting and incurable illnesses, and their families. However, the charity relies on the generosity of the public to fund its services, so throughout the year Furley Page and its staff will be raising money to help make a real difference to Pilgrims’ outstanding work in our local community, while honouring the firm’s commitment to supporting good causes.

“Furley Page has an extensive programme of events planned throughout the course of the year, and we’ll be organising a variety of fundraising initiatives to help raise money for the hospice, in addition to supporting other good causes and events locally.”

Since its establishment over 40 years ago, Pilgrims Hospices has supported thousands of people coping with a life limiting illness and their families. With care provided at its hospices in Canterbury, Thanet and Ashford, as well as in the local community, each year the charity provides a range of services across east Kent. This includes end-of-life care given on its wards, and programmes to support people to live well and stay independent after they are diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Leila Ilkhan, Corporate and Trusts Partnerships Manager at Pilgrims Hospices, said: “We are delighted to be chosen as Furley Page’s Charity of the Year on their special anniversary. We rely on the support from the community around us to continue delivering our care, and we look forward to working with Furley Page as their team make a commitment to supporting local hospice care in east Kent.”
