The University of Kent’s Lunchtime Concert series is set to return in Spring 2025, offering a diverse lineup of performances once again sponsored by Kent’s leading law firm Furley Page.

The spring series kicks off on Wednesday 12th February, with a performance by Matthew Sotillo-Cooke, tenor, and Cherry Wong, piano. A graduate of the University of Kent, Matthew returns to the university after completing his studies.

Together with pianist Cherry Wong, they will present Schumann’s poignant and bittersweet song cycle Dichterliebe. The pair have been praised for their expressive storytelling and are currently pursuing their Master’s at the Royal Academy of Music.

On Wednesday 26th March, the series will continue with Le Belle Époque, a piano duet featuring Benjamin Frith and Heidi Rolfe. The duo will perform French piano music for four hands, including works by Ravel, Chabrier, Bizet, and Satie, celebrating the elegance of the late 19th and early 20th century compositions.

Jeremy Licence, Managing Partner at Furley Page, said: “As we celebrate Furley Page’s 300th anniversary this year, we are delighted to continue the firm’s support for the University of Kent Music Department’s Lunchtime Concert series, which provides the local community with a wonderful opportunity to hear live classical music.

“It’s especially exciting to welcome back University of Kent alumni, whose achievements serve as an inspiration to current students. This spring’s programme features two exceptional performances, and it’s a privilege to support this series and the talented musicians it brings to Kent.”

The Lunchtime Concerts will once again take place in the Colyer-Fergusson Hall at the University of Kent. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of £3. For more information on the Lunchtime Concert series and other events, visit www.kent.ac.uk/music/whatson
