The University of Kent Music Department is delighted to present the return of its highly anticipated Lunchtime Concert series this October, sponsored once again by Kent law firm, Furley Page.

This concert series is set to be an extraordinary musical journey, featuring a diverse range of performances that will captivate audiences of all tastes and backgrounds.

Kicking off the season on 18th October 2023, singer-songwriter Daisy Veacock will enchant the audience with her unique blend of lyricism and cheerfully reflective melancholy. Her music paints an intimate picture of her life as a Londoner at the age of 19, infused with strong pop and jazz influences.

On 8th November 2023 acclaimed British pianist Matthew Schellhorn will take to the stage. With over two decades of leading performances at major venues and festivals, Schellhorn’s recital will include works by Herbert Howells: ‘Howells: Piano Music, Vols. 1 & 2’, which charted in the Official Classical Charts Top 10.
The season will conclude on 6th December 2023 with a festive performance by the acclaimed early music group, The Telling. Their show, ‘The Secret Life of Carols’, featuring Clare Norburn (soprano), Patricia Hammond (mezzo), and Joy Smith (medieval harp), promises a special performance of medieval English and traditional European carols, fusing music and lighting effects to create a unique atmosphere.

Jeremy Licence, Managing Partner at Furley Page said: “Furley Page is pleased to continue its long-running support of The University of Kent’s concert series. This year’s lineup promises to deliver a diverse and exciting range of musical talent, which will delight audiences while enriching the university’s extra-curricular music programme.”

This autumn’s Lunchtime Concert programme will again take place in the Colyer-Fergusson Hall; admission is free, with a suggested donation of £3. For more information about the Lunchtime Concert series and other events, please visit www.kent.ac.uk/music
