Career

Karen joined Furley Page in March 2014 after relocating to the Canterbury area from Manchester and brings over 10 years experience working for MyTravel and Thomas Cook, two major travel companies within the UK, working at various locations including Rochdale, Peterborough, Preston and Chester as well as supporting key business initiatives at Glasgow, Belfast and Dublin.

Due to the ever-changing face of Travel, Karen has a wealth of change programme experience and has implemented many changes within the business areas she has supported.

Karen’s key responsibilities included the launched and embedding of a Performance Management structure including succession planning. Has Introduced and embedded a values culture in two business areas. Reviewed and updated HR Policies in keeping with legislative and best practice changes. Undertaken many recruitment campaigns from assessments centres to Director level. Liaised with Learning & Development teams to identify and support key learning programmes and initiatives including a Management Development Scheme, Business Values and new Performance Management Appraisal process. Implemented pay review process and played a key role in moderation to ensure consistency and budget constraints are met.

Worked closely with MDs and their Senior Management team and was part of Leadership team.

Line manager for a HR team including Recruitment, HR Advice and HR Admin. Based at Canterbury office, but with responsibility for all Furley Page sites and employees.
