Furley Page sponsor Pilgrims Hospices annual Golf Day
September 16, 2026
For the second year in a row, Furley Page Solicitors were the headline sponsor of Pilgrims Hospices Golf Day, held at Canterbury Golf Club.
Over 100 keen golfers came together to support the hugely beneficial work of Pilgrims Hospices, helping meet its challenge to raise £18 million a year so that it can continue delivering specialist care in East Kent at its hospice locations in Ashford, Canterbury and Thanet and in the community.
Competition between teams in the much-loved annual event was friendly, but fierce. The Golf Day started with a traditional bacon sandwich breakfast for the players, before they teed off in a ‘shotgun’ start, with all players starting at the same time at different holes. A total of 25 teams competed, with the team from Think Lifting Ltd triumphing on the day and receiving very generous prizes donated by Canterbury Golf Club, as well as bragging rights until next year. Following completion of the 18-hole course, the golfers returned to the clubhouse for lunch, featuring prize-giving and further fundraising activities.
Dan Sherlock, Partner at Furley Page, participated in the ever-popular putting competition, a simultaneous event, ideal for those with less sporting prowess. He said, “Pilgrims Hospices was our chosen charity of the year last year, and we are very pleased to continue our support for them by once again sponsoring their annual Golf Day. While our Furley Page team didn’t quite manage first place, a fabulous day was had by all, with vital funds raised for Pilgrims.”
Pilgrims Hospices is an independent charity that relies on fundraising and donations for to deliver services supporting individuals and their families facing a terminal diagnosis. This year the Golf Day raised over £20,000 for the charity.
