Rayyan Sorefan is a Legal Adviser in the Furley Page Corporate and Commercial Team.

Rayyan is a practising Barrister-at-Law in Mauritius and an unregistered Barrister in the UK, bringing international legal expertise to his practice. He has experience in advising equity firms, portfolio investments, corporates and other financial investors on a wide range of corporate matters. He has broad experience in advising on domestic and cross-border private M&A transactions (including buyouts and corporate carve-outs), co-investment arrangements and joint ventures across a range of sectors.

Rayyan has also been involved in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including power purchase agreements, supply agreements and distribution agreements.

Experience:

  • Advising a UK bank on the acquisition of a majority stake in one of Mauritius’ leading banking institutions, a significant transaction in the banking sector involving multi-layered regulatory approvals and comprehensive legal due diligence.
  • Advising a listed public company on the partial disposal of its financial services cluster through a management buy-out
  • Advising a listed public company on a long-form amalgamation, a significant transaction that involved regulatory advice on capital markets
  • Undertaking the due diligence of various companies in cross-border M&A transactions
