Career

Charlotte Reid joined Furley Page in 2004 as a trainee and successfully qualified as a solicitor in 2006.

Charlotte deals with a variety of commercial work.  She works with a number of new start up businesses analysing the way the business operates or intends to operate,  and the potential risks involved, and then advising on the appropriate structure. Charlotte advises on all aspects of company law and corporate governance including initial requirements on incorporation and drafting bespoke Articles of Association and Shareholders Agreements to reflect the commercial arrangement that the client wants.  She advises partnerships on converting to limited liability partnerships or limited companies, and she prepares Partnership Agreements.

Charlotte reviews and drafts all manner of contracts that may be required throughout the course of trading, such as distribution, agency, franchise, and service level agreements.  She drafts terms and conditions for websites and advises on the related data protection and distance selling issues. She also prepares terms and conditions for the supply of goods or services for both consumer and business customers.

She advises on intellectual property matters for registered and unregistered rights including copyright, patents, design rights, and trademarks.  This includes drafting contracts for the protection of rights be it non-disclosure agreements or contracts dealing with ownership such the assignment or licence of intellectual property rights. Charlotte can also assist in the process for registering a UK or European trademark.

Charlotte has dealt with a number of business sales and acquisitions ranging from small asset purchases to larger more involved share sales to the value of £4million.

Charlotte enjoys working with a broad range of commercial clients from entrepreneurs to larger corporate clients and provides an efficient client focused approach to her work.
