20 September 2012
If you visited France this summer in search of your dream holiday home and didn’t find what you were looking for, there will be plenty of fresh inspiration at this month’s A Place in the Sun Live show.
Tickets are now available for the official exhibition of the hit Channel 4 television series, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 28 to 30 September.
Visit the show’s popular French Village and you’ll find a wealth of experts and estate agents who can answer your questions and show you a wide range of properties available.
French property specialist Sarah Bogard, a partner with leading law firm Furley Page, will be holding free seminars every day in the French Village, giving a guide to what to watch out for when buying a property in France and offering top tips and information on the associated issues of Wills, French succession law and French inheritance tax.
Sarah will be joined by other members of the Furley Page French property and estates team, including native French-speaking adviser Florence Richards. As well as offering guidance on French property matters, Florence, a former French Avocat who speaks fluent English, can also advise on your tax responsibilities in France.
The French Village, presented by French-Property.com and sponsored by currency specialists Halo Financial, is also a great place to visit if you need help on other issues such as French health insurance, currency exchange, financial advice and property management.
“The pound reached a four-year peak against the euro in July, at just over €1.28, and still remains strong,” says Sarah. “That’s good news for Britons looking to buy in France because it means their money will go much further than if they had been buying this time last year.
“France remains one of the most popular countries with the British for property investment because it offers a good quality of life and a wide choice of property types in all price ranges. Its close proximity is also an important factor for UK residents, who are still the third largest overseas buyers of property in France.”
A Place in the Sun Live is the UK’s biggest overseas property exhibition. It is held twice a year, in London and Birmingham, and attracts thousands of investors from right across Britain looking to buy property abroad.
The Furley Page French property and estates team will be in the French Village at stand FR11 every day between 10am and 5pm. To make an appointment ahead of the show, to speak with a member of the team, email acb@furleypage.co.uk or simply visit the team’s stand on the day and they will be happy to answer your questions.
