A specialist commercial property lawyer who worked for major London legal firm Nabarro has been appointed by leading regional solicitors Furley Page.
Liz Brady, 48, joins the firm’s commercial property team based in Canterbury. An associate solicitor, she will advise clients on a range of issues including property development, acquisition and disposal of investment portfolios, and commercial leasehold documentation for landlords and tenants.
Liz, who lives in Hythe, commented: “Furley Page’s reputation within the industry is well documented and I am really looking forward to consolidating the knowledge and experience of commercial property issues that I’ve gained in London and elsewhere.”
A former Folkestone Girls’ Grammar School student, Liz graduated from University College, Cardiff with a BSc Econ (Hons) in law and politics. She passed the Law Society final exams at the College of Law, Guildford.
Prior to joining Furley Page, Liz spent 15 years working for Nabarro - renowned for commercial property – and more recently for a Kent solicitors where she was head of the property department. During that time she has acted for a variety of clients including large quoted property investment companies, retailers, development companies, construction companies, investment trusts, and businesses and individuals in relation to retail, industrial, office premises and land.
A member of The Law Society; the property section of The Law Society, and The Kent Law Society, Liz is an external examiner for the property law courses provided by BPP Professional Education. She has also written articles for legal texts and given presentations on commercial property issues.
Andrew Gough, partner and head of commercial property law, said: “The level of skills and experience that Liz brings to the team will be a tremendous benefit to clients. Her appointment comes at a time when we are enjoying a period of growth, despite the economic downturn.”
Married with two children, Liz enjoys playing golf and keeping fit in her leisure time.
