Family breakdown, divorce, cohabitation disputes and children's matters.
Susi Gillespie joined the Family Team upon her qualification in the summer of 2006. Susi, a keen advocate, quickly progressed in knowledge and experience and gained her Higher Rights of Audience Accreditation in November 2009.
In October 2010 Chambers and Partners UK recognised Susi as a Notable Practitioner in her field praising her for her ‘enthusiasm and straightforward attitude’. As a result of Susi’s commitment to Family Law, she was promoted in May 2011 to Senior Solicitor within the Family Team.
As well as being a member of Resolution and on the committee of Young Kent Resolution, Susi also mentors LPC students at the College of Law in London and Guildford.
Susi’s main area of interest is children's matters. She recognises that when couples are separating from each other, both parties will continue to be parents to their children. Susi assists parents to focus on their children’s well being; whether this be through negotiation, mediation or through the Court process.
Susi also advises in relation to the resolution of financial disputes and is fully aware that the worry associated with the financial division can be more stressful than the separation itself. Susi will assist in achieving a fair division of the matrimonial home and assets through a process of firm and fair negotiation on your behalf.
Susi is mainly based at our Chatham office but is also available for meetings at our Canterbury and Whitstable offices.
