Older or Vulnerable Client Services

Furley Page recognises that the older and/or vulnerable client’s needs are specific and that the law relating to issues concerning them is complicated and daunting. The anxiety caused by the unknown is a common problem and one which our specialist team are happy and able to assist with.

We will talk you through things step by step making certain that you fully understand the advice being given. It is very important that you have enough time to make a considered decision about your matter and do not feel pressured or harried into a decision that you are not completely happy with.

We make sure one point of contact is arranged to handle all affairs; this reduces confusion and stress. We aim to bring peace of mind by giving practical advice on everyday issues, as well as planning ahead for the future.  The majority of our specialist team are members of Solicitors for the Elderly.

Our Services Include:-

  • Wills
  • Advance Decisions [also known as Living Wills]
  • Inheritance Tax Planning
  • Community Care Advice
  • Advice on how to protect your assets in the event of your needing residential or nursing care
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Registration of Powers of Attorney
  • Deputyship Applications
  • Advice on capacity and consent issues
  • Advice on Welfare benefits

Client Care:-

  • We have wheelchair access all of our offices as well as ground floor meeting rooms at our offices in Canterbury and Whitstable. There is a lift at our Thames Gateway office.
  • For the deaf and hard of hearing we offer specialist tape services. We can arrange facilities for the use of sign language.
  • For those who are unable to hear or speak, we can arrange for an interpreter.
  • For those with eyesight problems we can provide literature in large print and have access to Braille.
  • Please do remember to let us know of any special requirements when booking an appointment with a member of our specialist team.

Home and Hospital Visits:-

We understand that it is not always easy for our clients to visit us at our offices and as such are happy to visit our clients in their own home or in a hospital or hospice. We are also able to make emergency visits to the hospital or hospice if need be. Details of this service can be discussed at the time of making an appointment.

Certain members of our team have close links with local hospices and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for bedside Wills and Powers of Attorney.
