Redundancy

A redundancy situation can arise where your employer closes its business entirely, closes the workplace at which you are employed, or where there is a reduced requirement for employees to carry out the kind of work which you do at the place where you work.

If you are made redundant, you will be entitled to:

  • Work your period of notice (or, in some circumstances, be paid in lieu of your period of notice); and
  • Statutory Redundancy Pay

If you have been made redundant, you may feel that:

  • Your employer did not consult with you;
  • You feel you were unfairly selected for redundancy;
  • Your employer did not consider any alternatives to your redundancy

If you have been made redundant and wish to consider bringing one or more Employment Tribunal claims against your employer – for example for wrongful dismissal if your employer has not paid you for your period of notice, or for unfair dismissal, Furley Page Employment Law Team can help you. We can assist with an appeal against your redundancy, and by providing advice and/ore representation if you do wish to bring Employment Tribunal claims.
