Career

Andrew Masters is a Partner and Head of the Employment Team at Furley Page. With 30 years’ experience of supporting employers and employees, he advises on all aspects of employment law and HR-related matters, both contentious and non-contentious.

Andrew acts for employers across a broad range of complex and strategic employment issues, including high-value disputes, large-scale collective redundancy exercises, restructurings and organisational change programmes. He also provides pragmatic day-to-day advice on workplace matters such as absence management, performance concerns, disciplinary and grievance procedures, workplace investigations and dismissals.

Known for his commercial and preventative approach, Andrew works closely with clients to identify and address employment issues at an early stage, helping to minimise risk and avoid unnecessary and costly disputes.

He advises an impressive and diverse client base spanning both the public and private sectors, including national and international businesses, charities, SMEs, educational institutions and senior executives.

Andrew has developed a particular specialism in the education sector. He regularly advises higher education institutions, independent schools, maintained schools and academy trusts on a wide range of employment and workforce-related issues. His extensive experience in this area enables him to provide practical and sector-specific guidance to educational establishments navigating complex employment challenges.

An experienced lecturer and trainer, Andrew frequently presents at HR forums and business conferences. He delivers employment law and HR training to HR professionals, senior leaders and line managers and has authored a number of published articles covering employment law and workplace issues.

Andrew’s expertise has been recognised by both The Legal 500 and Chambers UK, where he has received commendations for his employment law practice.

Having strong ties to Kent and Medway, Andrew possesses an in-depth understanding of the region’s business community and economic landscape.
