Andrew Masters is recognised as a leading individual in employment law by Chambers and Partners. He advises on all aspects of employment law and related HR issues, contentious and non contentious. In addition to complex, strategic and high value employment related matters, including large scale redundancy and restructuring programmes, he frequently advises employers on day to day HR and employment law issues such as absence and performance management, disciplinary and grievance situations and dismissals. Andrew has established a strong reputation for advising employers at an early stage to prevent unnecessary and costly disputes.
He represents a wide and impressive client base in the public and private sectors that includes national and international companies, charities, smaller enterprises and senior executives. Andrew has developed a particular specialism in providing employment advice to the education sector where he represents higher and further education establishments as well as a number of schools in the independent and public sectors, including academies.
Andrew is an experienced lecturer and trainer in employment law. He regularly presents at HR forums and business conferences and provides training for HR personnel and line managers. He has also written a number of widely published articles on employment law and HR related matters.
He has strong ties with Kent and Medway, which has shaped his understanding of the County’s economy. Andrew is based mainly at our Canterbury office, but often lectures and works from our Chatham office.
Outside of the office, Andrew is an Emeritus Governor of Kent College, Canterbury.
