Discrimination

There is no minimum period of employment to receive protection against discrimination and protection is provided to employees, the self employed, independent contractors and workers.

There are however strict time limits in which to issue Tribunal proceedings for discrimination, so you should always seek legal advice as soon as possible if you know or suspect you are the victim of discrimination.

Equality Act 2010 and discrimination

Protection against discrimination, harassment and victimisation is contained within a complex legal framework under the Equality Act 2010.

The Equality Act is concerned with discrimination in respect of the specific protected characteristics which are: age, disability; gender reassignment; marriage and civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; race; religion or belief; sex; and sexual orientation.

We have vast experience and unprecedented expertise in bringing claims of discrimination on behalf of individuals.
